- Marketing & Communications Intern
Description
Life Science Washington (LSW) is a statewide, member-driven trade association representing more than 500 biotechnology, medical device, digital health, research, and life science organizations. Together, our members form one of the nation’s strongest life science ecosystems. LSW connects companies to capital, talent, partners, and essential business services, and elevates the industry by advancing programs and communications that support groundbreaking research and innovation that improves and saves lives.
The Marketing & Communications Intern will support both marketing and event-related initiatives, including:
- Manage day-to-day social media for Life Science Washington and LSW Entrepreneur & Venture Services across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Facebook, ensuring consistent messaging and brand alignment
- Draft, edit, and distribute weekly email communications, including gathering content from internal departments, identifying relevant industry news, writing original copy, and proofreading for grammar and punctuation
- Maintain and update website content using WordPress, including posting news articles, updating events, and ensuring information remains current and accurate
- Design and produce digital and print marketing materials to promote programs and events, including social media graphics, email visuals, signage, banners, and other event collateral
- Prepare and update monthly reports using Adobe InDesign
- Ensure consistent application of Life Science Washington branding across all digital and printed materials
- Coordinate with internal teams to support timely execution of marketing and communications deliverables
- Assist the Membership team with business operations and administrative support as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, or a related field
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Experience with social media marketing and digital communications
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, and Canva
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms and WordPress preferred but not required
- Creativity, ingenuity, initiative, flexibility, and a helpful, can-do attitude
